RYT 200 hours in two sessions: 100h first year with Mark and Joanne who come every year for two weeks of intense practice. They are both certified by Guruji and have practiced Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga for over 30 years. It began with Sri K. Pattabhi Jois in 1979, they spent four years in Mysore, India. Darby is one of the few teachers in the world that has reached the highest level in Ashtanga Yoga. They teach the original Ashtanga method. With them we explore the asanas in detail, first and second series see depending on the level of the students. Everything is detailed the ground supports, bandhas, breathing, drishti, deep internal alignments. Darby’s teaching is dynamic and direct while giving students the essence of the energy of this yoga. His wisdom and warmth attract a vibrant community of students who appreciate his humor, his attentive nature and his steadfast commitment to improving the alignment of each student. This training takes place in the idyllic setting of Chamonix, with an organization that will allow you to concentrate on your practice and your daily study. Indeed housing* and Shala are at Gare des glaciers a wonderful place. Organic meals are cooked and served by the restaurant team L’Impossible.
General Program: The initial focus will be to give you inspiration for your practice at a much deeper level and create an environment that is conducive to learning.
First we will do a self-evaluation, clearly indicating where each student stands as to create the next possible step in a conscious evolution. Exploring the basic principles of deep asanas and the valid basis also for dance and martial arts. Yoga philosophy as the basis of inspiration for your approach. Breath & Vinyasa-Learning the breathing mechanism and its effect on the physical body, emotional body and the mental body. Bandha & Optimization posture. Understanding bandhas and their effect on the body. Bring this understanding to the various asanas with a clear purpose to circulate the energy flow in the body. Drishti. Bring the mindset that makes yoga a transformation process. Anatomy. Learn the anatomy of particular way, which goes along with the course content. The basic anatomy will be part of the suggested readings. Meditation. Bring a meditative state all our practices, different approaches will be explored.
The second aspect of the training will involve gain confidence and develop skills that will help you convey your own experience through:
- The Use of words, for concise and progressive data, clear verbal instructions.
- the adjustments, both reliable and accurate.
- the reading in postural imbalances students.
Here is the typical day of training with Darby, this for two weeks with one day off in the middle:
- 7:00 : pranayama / meditation
- 7:30 : Mysore Style (or led class if needed)
- 9:30 : break fast
- 10:00 : study
- 12:00 : break organic vegan meal
- 13:30 : study
- 15:30 : tea break
- 16:00 : workshop
- 17:30 : end (Kirtan opportunity)
